Dancing with the Stars Season 10 had audiences on the edge of their seats from the beginning. While the most famous stars were touted when the competitor list was first announced, it was the less-famous stars who impressed the television audience and eventually were the breakout stars of Season Ten.
Season 10 of Dancing with the Stars saw one major change: Brooke Burke replaced Samantha Harris as the full-time co-host along with the rock-solid Tom Bergeron. When Samantha Harris announced she would leave DWTS to pursue her career at Entertainment Tonight and The Insider, you knew the competition would be fierce to become the new host. Brooke Burke was a favorite of the audience from her upset victory over Warren Sapp in Season 7, so it was natural she would take her place beside Tom Bergeron.
Dancing with the Stars Season 10 got back to a more manageable number of contestants, cutting the field almost in half from 16 down to 10. This gave the audience more time to bond with each pair of dancers, while avoiding double-eliminations in early rounds of the competition, when we still don't know the dancers.
Dancing with the Stars Season 10 Judges: Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli
Dancing with the Stars Season 10 Co-Hosts: Tom Bergeron, Brooke Burke
Dancing with the Stars Season 10 Time: Spring 2010
Here's a list of the contestants from Dancing with the Stars Season 10:
I so hoped to see Buzz Aldrin put on a good show, but he never had much of a chance against stars half his age. I'm certain Mark Ballas was shocked when he and Shannen Doherty were eliminated in the first elimination round, but it's my opinion that Shannen Doherty has what they call in politics "high negatives". Tony Dovolina did his best to prop up Kate Gosselin, but I think she had higher negative ratings than Shannen Doherty.
Here's a list of the celebrities along with what they're known for from Season 10 of Dancing with the Stars:
In the end, Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger were a beautiful couple. They wowed the audience an amazing jive performance in the final, which received a score of 30. While scores were down somewhat in the latter stages of the competition, Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame deserved her victory. Derek Hough was the fourth professional dancer to win a second Dancing with the Stars competition. Others include Julianne Hough, Cheryl Burke, and Mark Ballas.
