Dancing with the Stars Season 13

Dancing with the Stars Season 13 features twelve new celebrity contestants, matched with many of the dancers you've enjoyed in previous seasons. Set to begin on September 19, 2011, the thirteenth season continues with judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli, presenter Brooke Burke, and host Tom Bergeron.

To give everyone an idea about the newest batch of contestants for Autumn 2011, here's a career profile of the 12 contestants. Reality television, cable television, and tabloid TV, while some of my favorite additions are the two high-personality athletes: Ron-Ron Artest and Hope Solo.

David Arquette - Actor & Movie Producer

David Arquette has starred in films like Scream, Never Been Kissed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Eight Legged Freaks, and Wild Bill. These days, David is a producer as much as an actor. David Arquette is the brother of Patricia and Rosanna Arquette and the (separated) husband of Courtney Cox.

Hope Solo - American Soccer Goalkeeper

Hope Solo has been the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. Womens National Soccer team for the past five years or so. Hope starred on the squad which came 3 minutes away from winning the 2011 Womens World Cup (not her fault), eventually losing to Japan's plucky squad. Hope Solo is known for her energy, athleticism, and emotion on the pitch, so she should bring a lot of talent to the dance floor.

Chynna Phillips - Actress & Singer

Chynna Phillips was the blonde member of the early 90s pop music phenomenon, Wilson Phillips, who produced hits like "Hold On", "Release Me", and "You're In Love". Chynna Phillips has a singing pedigree. Her parents were John Phillips and Michelle Phillips, two members of the 60s band The Mamas and The Papas. Chynna Phillips' half-sisters include McKenzie Phillips (One Day At a Time) and Bijou Phillips (Almost Famous, Hostel II).

J.R. Martinez - Actor & Retired US Soldier

Ricki Lake was the hostess of a popular daytime tabloid talk show from 1993 to 2004. Before that, Ricki Lake acted in films such as Cry-Baby, Serial Mom, Cabin Boy, and the tv-movie Babycakes.

Rob Kardashian - Reality TV Star

Rob Kardashian is best known for appearing on reality tv shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Khloe & Lamar, which are about his famous sisters: Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian. Rob is also a sometime male model.

Kristin Cavallari - Actress & The Hills Star

Kristin Cavallari first got famous on the MTV reality series, Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Kristin has appeared on television shows like CSI: New York and Veronica Mars. She's dated famous men as well, including Chicago Bears quarterback, Jay Culter, and SB Inc founder Sam Nazarian.

Ron Artest - NBA Small Forward

Ron Artest was a member of the 2009 World Champion Los Angeles Lakers. Artest, who sometimes refers to himself as "Ron-Ron", is known as one of the best defenders in the game, as well as one of the best interviews. Ron Artest has been a controversial figure through much of his NBA career, mainly due to the infamous brawl he initiated between the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons when he was younger and wilder.

Chaz Bono - Transgender Activist

Chaz Bono is the son/daughter of Sonny Bono and Cher. Chaz Bono is a transgender advocate who has been a musician, actor, and writer, but is best known for the gender-altering surgery that turned him from female-to-male. This is selection which has gotten the most early buzz, sparking an online and media controversy about Dancing with the Stars' selection process.

Nancy Grace - HLN Hostess

Nancy Grace has been the hostess of televisions shows on Court TV and HNN (CNN's Headline News Network). Before becoming a broadcaster, Nancy Grace was a prosecutor in the state of Georgia. She first came to national broadcast prominence through her many appearances on Larry King Live. Nancy Grace has strong victims-rights opinions, which have sometimes led her into snap judgments and controversies.

Elizabetta Canalis - Model

Elizabetta Canalis is a model who has had small roles in feature films like Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo and Virgin Territory. Elizabetta Canalis also hosted the Italian-language version of Total Request Live, while appearing on American television programs like Burn Notice and Leverage. Canalis also had a two year relationship with George Clooney.
