Dancing with the Stars Season 2

Dancing with the Stars Season 2 built on the success of Season 1 with a winter launch roughly six months after the original. The contestant list had been expanded from 6 to 10 and the now-familiar Samantha Harris replaced Lisa Canning, Tom Bergeron's original co-host.

Season Two saw the introduction of several dancers who would go on to become fan favorites, including Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Anna Tresunskaya, and Cheyryl Burke. Returning were Louis Van Amstel and Edyta Sliwsinska.

Dancing with the Stars Season 2 - Dancing Pairs

Here's a list of the dancing pairs from season 2 of Dancing with the Stars.

When the new field of contestants was announced, I was fascinated to see what kind of moves Tatum O'Neal could produce, while I had to see what kind of dancer one of my favorite Sportscenter anchors, Kenny Mayne, was. Everyone assumed Master P would have a natural advantage on the dance floor, while Jerry Rice would no doubt be a natural (he wasn't). In fact, much of Season 2 was based around the judges' harsh criticism of Jerry Rice's dancing, while the voters kept him alive from week to week.

While George Hamilton made his impression in Season Two, much of the buzz about was about the charming, long-legged beauty from the WWE (of all places), Stacy Keibler. The female vote showed its muscle when Jerry Rice and Drew Lachey became the final two contestants.

Jerry Rice had the best moves in the history of wide receivers, breaking every meaningful pass receiving record there in the history of the NFL. You could divide Jerry Rice's pro football career in half, give those two halves to two receivers, and both would still enter the Hall of Fame. But Jerry Rice still didn't have the moves to take down Drew Lachey, a former US marine and member of the boy band, 98 Degrees, proved to be most popular in the end.
