Dancing with the Stars Season 7

In Dancing with the Stars Season 7, Brooke Burke finally ended the 4-season reign of athletic champions. From Season 3 through Season 6, competitive sports stars had won each season of Dancing with the Stars: Emmitt Smith, Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves, and Kristi Yamaguchi. Another athlete, Warren Sapp, would make a strong push to win Season Seven, but Brooke Burke championed for all the non-athletes out there and eventually won.

Celebrity and Professional Partner - Dancing with the Stars Season 7

Here's a list of the celebrity dancers and their professional dance partners in Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars.

The first of what I assume will be a whole train of Kardashians (two at present) competed in Dancing with the Stars, though the most famous Kardashian of the all, Kim, was unable to get much traction in the competition. My favorite beach volleyball player of all time, Misty May-Treanor, also danced in this competition, but she was robbed of her chance to compete at the highest levels.

The biggest disappointment of all was Ted McGinley, whose inclusion in the cast of Happy Days and Married: With Children foreshadowed the cancellation of those shows. I suppose I should be glad that Dancing With The Stars wasn't cancelled. It was wonderful to see the dance chemistry of Corky Ballas and Cloris Leachman, so I was particularly disappointed when they couldn't move on.

Dancing with the Stars Season 7 - Celebrities

Here's a list of the celebrities from Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars:

Despite a strong showing by NSYNC performer Lance Bass, the final two were the two dancers we always knew it would be: Warren Sapp and Brooke Burke. Warren Sapp was a brash Superbowl champion and imposing 300-pound figure, while Brooke Burke was known at the time for nothing more than hosting Wild On! and Rock Star (and her obvious beauty). Brooke Burke deserved her win, which associated her for all time with Dancing with the Stars. This brings me to another theory of mine about Dancing with the Stars.

I believe the producers of the show secretly want the non-athletes to win. They know the athletes have a big advantage, because they have better strength, balance, coordination, and endurance. So when someone wins that isn't a world class athlete, they rejoice. Think about it: Brooke Burke and Drew Lachey were 2 of the first 3 non-athletes to win Dancing With The Stars. They also happen to be the two champions to have been asked back to co-host with the always-steady Tom Bergeron.
